New Employee Orientation Checklist

What to bring on your first day

    Identification
    Bring government-issued photo ID and any documents required for employment eligibility (e.g., passport, driver’s license, Social Security card).

    Completed forms
    Bring any pre-filled forms we requested (tax forms, direct deposit info, signed offer letter).
  • 3
    Work-appropriate clothing
    Refer to your position’s dress code; bring comfortable, non-slip shoes if required.
  • 4
    Emergency contact info
    Names and phone numbers of two emergency contacts.
  • 5
    Banking details
    For payroll direct deposit (voided check or bank routing/account numbers).

First day schedule

  • 9:00 AM — Meet with HR for paperwork and ID verification.
  • 10:00 AM — Property tour and introductions to your team.
  • 11:00 AM — Position-specific orientation and safety briefing.
  • 12:00 PM — Lunch break (on your own unless otherwise arranged).
  • 1:00 PM — Systems access, email setup, and training schedule review.

Training and compliance

    Safety training
    Complete property safety and emergency procedures training within first week.

    Position training
    Shadow a team member for your first 3 shifts (schedule provided by manager).

    Policy review
    Read and acknowledge employee handbook and code of conduct.
  • D
    Background checks
    If applicable, complete any outstanding background or reference checks.

HR and payroll

  • Confirm payroll start date and pay schedule with HR.
  • Set up direct deposit and confirm tax withholding forms are submitted.
  • Provide any required certifications or licenses to HR.
